Attic Inspections

When it is safe and practical to get into the attic it provides an excellent opportunity to check if the attic ventilation is working properly. Attic inspections also give you the chance to see if there are any visible signs of trouble. Things to look for inside the attic include:

  • Do the attic exhaust vents have actual airflow holes?

  • Are the intake vents clear and free or is the attic insulation blocking incoming air?

  • What’s the condition of the underside of the deck?

  • Any signs of mold, mildew, or condensation anywhere in the attic?

  • Does the bathroom or kitchen exhaust fan ductwork safely exit to the outdoors through a dedicated vent designed with a damper?

Use our Attic Ventilation Inspection checklist to help you with your next project.
